The square is generously planted with trees that surround it and isolate it a little from the Hotels and other buildings that surround it. These trees also provide some break against the sound of London traffic.

Russell Square is an important square in central London which has recently undergone a major refurbishment both opening up the square and providing new seating and a fountain. Russell Square is just over the road from the Hotel Russell, and very close to various major London landmarks and attractions. Nearby are the British Museum, the British Library and Covent Garden. Also nearby is Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
Russell Square is very easy to get to as it is close to numerous tube and railway stations. It makes for a good place to relax and unwind whilst sightseeing in London. Around the square are numerous restaurants and famous hotels, including the Hotel Russell, Tavistock Hotel and Morton Hotel.
