Panorama from Keawanui Bay (Big Bay) on the west coast of Hawaii Island. This bay is next to the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows in the Mauna Lani Resort at Kalahuipuo'a. This bay opens up to Makaiwa Bay. A little further north from Keawanui Bay bay is Holoholokai Beach Park. There are many ancient sites in the area, including the Kalahuipua'a Fishponds and the Puako Petroglyph Archeological Preserve.

Travel and Getting There:
Take Highway 19 north from Kailua-Kona toward the Kohala Resort Area. Turn left into the resort between the 74 and 73 Mile Stones.
