Naalehu - FURTHER INFORMATION
Naalehu - Hawaii Island visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Naalehu' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hawaii.
Panorama of Naalehu (Nā'ālehu) showing both the church and the theatre in the town. Most people simply pass through Na'alehu on their way from Kailua-Kona to Volcanoes National Park or Hilo. The town lies in the lea of some prehistoric Mauna Loa volcano lava flows which offer the town some protection from wind. The soil build up here is quite good and the area fertile. Naalehu is close to the Ka'u Forest Reserve. The next town east is Pahala.
Travel and Getting There:
Follow the I-11 round the southernmost part of the island. Naalehu is just past the turning to South Point and close to Punaluu Beach Park (Black Sand Beach).
