Bodmin - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama from Bodmin in North Cornwall. This panorama was taken standing next to a roundabout in the center of the village, opposite St. Petrock church. This junction is the main bottleneck for traffic passing through Bodmin, all the roads meet here and it gets very busy in high season.
Bodmin - FURTHER INFORMATION
Bodmin - North Cornwall visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Bodmin' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Cornwall.
Bodmin is one of the oldest towns in the UK, and the only Cornish town to be named in the Doomsday Book. It has also been known as Petrockstow, after St Peterock whose church is visible in this panoramic picture. The town used to be the administrative centre of Cornwall until that privilege moved to Truro. The mainstay of the town used to be tin mining, but this has now shifted to tourism. Bodmin is a good place to base oneself while visiting Nothern Cornwall. It is very close to Bodmin Mooor on which are numerous ancient monuments, stone circles, tourist attractions and castles. It is also within easy access of numerous coastal towns and beaches. Within Bodmin itself is the Shire Hall, built in 1837 and which was the highest court in Cornwall.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
