Guasca in chibcha native language means "slope of a mountain range." Indigenous religion was based on the practice of "Water Worship", which led to the sacred ceremony of the "Legenda del Dorado". The town was founded by Don Luis Enriquez, in 1600. San Jacinto church is one of the most beautiful of Cundinamarca region with a gothic architecture. The park has several indigenous sculptures & one of Laurentino Rodriguez Cortez & one of The Crist miraculous in the middle of a fountain
