Goonhilly Earth Station - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

Goonhilly Earth Station is quite an amazing place. If you have children and / or are into satellite communication. Otherwise people simply pass by it on the way out to Coverack. There is ample parking at the station, so it would seem that it is a popular tourist attraction. However, I can not help but be surprised at the entrance charges.

Panorama from Goonhilly Earth Station on Goonhilly Down on Cornwall. There are over 60 satellite dishes on the Goonhilly site, making it one of the largest satellite stations in the world. This panoramic image shows the large dish just outside the Gonnhilly Earth Station Experience, a tourist attraction that has grown up in the area explaining some of the history of communications. The visitors centre, just to the left of the satellite dish in this picture, has the Big Dish Café; Gift shop, communications outlet and indoor/outdoor childrens play area.
