Poole Harbour off Arne Peninsula - Poole visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Poole Harbour off Arne Peninsula' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Dorset.
Arne Peninsula reaches into the southern side of Poole Harbour. It can be seen to the right behind the stern of the sailing boat in the picture. It is named after the village of Arne, best known for the Arne RSPB Reserve. This wildlife sanctuary has several walking trails, with one leading out to Patchins Point which has good views over to Poole.
This panorama also shows some of the small islands found within Poole Harbour. Moving round right beyond the bow of the sailing boat are Long Island and Round Island. Behind this in the distance is the headland of Shell Bay and Studland, the entrance to Poole Harbour and Sandbanks. Further round Brownsea island is also visible. The rest of Poole lies on the horizon to the right of the Arne Peninsula.
