A panorama taken from the Whitley Bay and Blackpool area of Poole Harbour from a boat. This part of Poole harbour is very popular with ;wind surfers and kite surfers. It is an open shallow area which is shielded from the waves by the low lying spit of Sandbanks. This means that while the area catches a lot of wind, it is rarely too rough to sail and surf on. Whitley Bay is also very shallow, and those falling off their surf boards can simply stand up and get back on. Sandbanks spit is famous as having some of the most expensive real estate in the world built on it. All the property here goes for millions of pounds as they offer panoramic views both over Poole Harbour and the rest of the bay on the other side. Travel and Getting There:By boat, kite surfer or windsurfer. There is parking around the edge of Blackpool and Whitley Lake in Poole Harbour on Shore Road which runs around the bay.
