St Catherine's Chapel - Abbotsbury - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A panorama of the inside of St Catherine's Chapel in Abbotsbury showing some of the ancient brickwork. Some of the bricks of the chapel have a green layer on them, I think this may be algae growing on them, the interior of the chapel can be quite moist. I took another picture from outside the chapel showing the view from the top of the hill.

St Catherine's Chapel is set on the top of a steep hill just to the south of Abbotsbury in Dorset. The church dates from the 14C, built by monks living in the Abbey below out of local stone similar to that used in St Nicholas Church. It may have served as a beacon for pilgrims, it is definitely a prominent landmark in the region today visible from a long distance away. The chapel is dedicated to St Catherine, and became a popular place for women to come and pray for a husband.
