River Avon at Christchurch - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken from the western bridge of the two bridges over the River Avon on Bridge Street in Christchurch. Bridge Street used to be a main route into the old town. It is very picturesque with old stone buildings and a gently flowing river. As can be seen in this picture, the river is popular for fishing. On the bank to the left of the men fishing is the ruin of a 12C house and the Christchurch Bowling Green. Behind this you can see the tower of Christchurch Priory, the most popular tourist attraction in the town.
