Raigad is a district in the state of Maharashtra in India. It is bounded by Mumbai harbour and the districts of Thane, Pune and Ratnagiri. The Arabian Sea forms the western coastline. It also includes Gharapuri (Elephanta) island in the Uran tehasil. The largest city in the district is Panvel and other cities include Alibag, Karjat, and Mahad.
