About the Khumbu Region of Nepal
The Khumbu Region, or Everest, is the most popular trekking area of Nepal and sees a lot of visitors during the high season trekking in the mountains and enjoying the pristine environment. As well as Everest itself, this part of Nepal is full of Sherpa villages and isolated monasteries.
Aside from the Everest Base Camp, popular trekking destinations within Khumbu include
Gokyo, Kala Pattar (5545m) on Pumori (7145m), Island Peak (6189m), Chukung Ri (5546 m) and Trashi Labtsa (5752 m).
