As well as the capital city of Belgium, Brussels is the also the principle city of the Brussels-Capital Region of Flanders. However, Brussels is best known today as the capital and the seat of government of the European Union. The headquarters of NATO, the Western European Union and EUROCONTROL are found in the city.
