The country of Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the Balkan Peninsula in sothern Europe. The country is almost landlocked apart from a short 26km stretch of coastline on the Adriatic Sea around Neum. Bosnia and Herzegovina is bordered by Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro. Bosnia is the largest part of the country and has a central European climate with warm summers and cold winters. The smaller Herzegovina region has a more Mediterranean climate. The capital city is Sarajevo.
