Kent

Kent is one of the 'home counties' in the southeast of England. Much of Kent is bounded by the North Sea, it is at the western end of the English Channel. On the land side, Kent has borders with East Sussex, Surrey and Greater London. It is separated from Essex by the Thames Estuary, and has a nominal border with France in the middle of the Channel Tunnel, and France is sometimes visible of the sea from the White Cliffs of Dover The county town is Maidstone, and other important towns include Rochester and Canterbury (accorded city status due to Canterbury Cathedral).
