Nottinghamshire
Nottinghamshire is a county in the East Midlands of
England. The county is land locked and surrounded by the other counties of South Yorkshire,
Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and
Derbyshire. The main city within the county is Greater Nottingham, also simply referred to as 'Nottingham'.
Within Nottinghamshire are several important market towns. These include Arnold, Bingham, Hucknall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield, Newark-on-Trent,
Retford and Worksop.
Nottinghamshire has a famous place in English folk history as within the county is Sherwood Forest, the home of Robbin Hood. Other places of interest within the county include Clumber Park, Creswell Crags, Hawton Church, Newstead Abbey, Nottingham Castle, Rufford Country Park, Sherwood Observatory, Southwell Minster and Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem.
