Whilst being an administrative area in it's own right, Budapest is also considered to be the capital of Pest megye. Pest shares a international border with Slovakia, and county borders within Hungary with the counties of N?gr?d, Heves, J?sz-Nagykun-Szolnok, B?cs-Kiskun, Fej?r and Kom?rom-Esztergom. Pest (pronounced pesht, Slovak: Pe?ť, Serbian: Pe?ta / Пешта) is also used to refer to the eastern part of Budapest. It forms the eastern part of Budapest covering about 70% of the land or Budapest. The River Danube separates Pest from Buda, the other part of the city. Hungarians will often refer to Budapest simply as 'Pest'. BudapestBudapest is the capital city of Hungary.
