The Liguria l region of north-western Italy is popular with tourists for the numerous beautiful beaches, picturesque little towns, and good food. With a curved coastline bordering the Ligurian Sea, the region shares international borders with France to the west and internal borders with the Italian regions of Piedmont to the north, and Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany to the east. The capital of the region is Genoa.
