Piedmont - Featured Destinations

Piedmont is a province in the North-West of Italy, which borders on France and Switzerland. Piedmont is surrounded on three sides by the Alps and therefore contains numerous skiing resorts. The mountains around Piedmont include the Monviso (Mont Vis), where the Po River rises, and Monte Rosa. Piedmont also borders Italian regions of Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, and the Aosta Valley. This region also contains the Gran Paradiso (Grand Paradis) National Park. Panoramic Earth contains interactive maps linked to panoramic images of several of the ski areas in Piedmont including Sestriere, Claviere and Sauze d'Oulx. In each the panoramas are linked to interactive piste maps of the resort and provide local information about skiing in the area.
