Found on the east coast of Scotland, Angus County shares internal borders with Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and Dundee City. The county capital is Forfar, but the largest town in the region is Arbroath.
The north and west of the county is mountainous, full of rural farms. The southern part of Angus is more populated, made of rolling hills bordering the sea. In this area is Strathmore, Gaelic for the Great Valley, a fertile agricultural area where the famous Angus cattle are raised. It also produces excellent potatoes and soft fruit.
