Castile and León (Spanish: Castilla y Leon) is the largest of the 17 autonomous regions of
Spain and whose unofficial capital city is Valladolid. An amalgamated region comprising the former Castilla la Vieja and León regions, it shares a border with Asturias and Cantabria to the north; Aragon region, the
Basque Country, and La Rioja to the east; Madrid and Castile-La Mancha to the southeast, 189,Extremadura to the south, and borders
Portugal and

Notable for history and heritage, UNESCO has six World Heritage Sites within Castilla y Leon including the old walled cities of Salamanca, Avila and Segovia and the Burgos Cathedral.
