The Canton of Genèva is the westernmost canton in Switzerland, on the western end of Lake Geneva. It is almost surrounded entirely by France except for a small neck in the north where it borders the Swiss canton of Vaud. French speaking, it is known in French as République et Canton de Genève, in German as Republik und Kanton Genf and in Italian as Repubblica e Canton Ginevra.

Geneva Canton is home to the city of Geneva, and was the center of the Calvinist Reformation, which had an enormous influence on both the surrounding area and across Europe.
