Vermont is a small state in New England, the northeast corner of the USA. It shares international borders with Quebec in Canada to the north. Vermont shares state boundaries with Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York states. The population of the state is about 600,000. The capital city of Vermont is Montpelier but the largest city is Burlington.
Vermont is well known for the mountains and skiing. Tourism plays an important factor in the state economy and among the well known skiing areas are Stowe, Smugglers' Notch, Killington Ski Resort, Mad River Glen, Sugarbush, Stratton, Jay Peak, Okemo, Suicide Six, Mount Snow and Bromley. During the summer months towns like Stowe, Manchester, Quechee, Wilmington and Woodstock many visitors who come here for fishing and walking holidays. Vermont is a state of outdoor pursuits, full of undeveloped regions and natural beauty.
As well as the scenery, Vermont is noted for its dairy products and is the top maple syrup producer in the US.
