Virginia lies on the easter seaboard of the USA. The state shares borders with North Carolina to the south and then, moving clockwise, with Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. The geography of Virginia is dominated by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. The capital city is Richmond and the largest city in the state is Virginia Beach, which is also a popular tourist destination. The Pentagon is found in northern Virginia, close to the border with the District of Columbia.
