About Florida

Florida, nicknamed the 'Sunshine State' occupies the peninsula on the southeast coast of USA. To the north borders the states of Alabama and Georgia. Surrounded by sea on three sides, with the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Florida is blessed with subtropical and tropical climates. The capital of Florida state is Tallahassee, but Jacksonville is the largest city, and the Miami metropolitan area is the largest metro area. Florida relies largely on tourism and agriculture for income.

With good climate and hundreds of miles of beaches, Florida attracts some 60 million visitors each year. The most important tourist destinations are the amusements parks clustered around Orlando in Central Florida. The greatest of these is the Walt Disney World Resort, the largest holiday resort with four theme parks and more than 20 hotels in Lake Buena Vista. Other important theme parks / holiday resorts are Universal Orlando Resort, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld.
