Panorama showing the car deck of the Eureka, an old ferry ship. The car deck of the Eureka has been set up as it would have been in her sailing days, and acts also as a kind of car museum, as there are numerous old cars here as shown in this panorama. The light was too bright to be able to also show the view through the windows clearly in this picture. She is moored in San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.

Eureka ferryship carried automobiles such as these across San Francisco bay to Tiburon and Sausalito. She even carried railway engine and carriages to reconnect to the railway across the bay in the early days as settlements and transport connections were being developed.
Now a living museum and star attraction at the National Historical Maritime Museum in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, she underwent two restoration projects during the 1990s totaling $3.7million to ensure her preservation for future generations as a National Landmark and in intrinsic part of the heritage and history that helped shape life around the San Francisco Bay.
