Coastal Overlook in Presidio - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama from the Coastal Overlook in Presidio. The panorama was taken late in the afternoon and shows the view over Golden Gate to the Marin Headlands. The Golden Gate Bridge is illuminated by the afternoon sun. You get here via a coastal path from Battery Crosby and Marshalls Beach and are rewarded with views along the rugged coastline. The far end tower of the Golden Gate Bridge is due north from this point.

Presidio park is a National Historical Landmark - once the most important military base on America's Pacific coast. In 1995, the US Government handed custodianship of Presidio to the National Park Service and The Presidio Trust.
Now a green oasis and undergoing extensive environmental rejuvenation as well as restoration of public pathways and historic buildings, the trail leading to this lookout point is just one of many which make up the 29 miles of trails running throughout the park under the care of the Trust and the NPS.
