Camden Lock is the most famous lock on the Regents Canal in London. The lock is next to Camden Lock Market and Camden Stables Market, which are major tourist attractions in London. Throughout the year thousands of people come to browse the crafts on sale in the market, eat at the various food stalls and sit by the lock. There are also a few very popular pubs in the area with seating overlooking the canal.
Camden Canal boat trips depart from here regularly taking visitors to the northern end of Regents Park, close to London Zoo (free entrance to London Pass holders) and Primrose Hill. For those with more energy, this route makes a pleasant walk and is often used by cyclists.
A short walk south from Camden Lock are both The Camden Market selling clothes and Inverness Street Market selling food and other items. Thereafter, Camden High Street continues south to Mornington Crescent, lined with the usual high street shops.
Tube: Camden Town (Northern line). At peak times at the weekend passengers can not depart from Camden Tube station and must walk to either Chalk Farm or Mornington Crescent stations.
Bus: Camden Town
Train: Camden, Euston Station, Kings Cross & St Pancras.
